Battle of the Books
It’s time for our students to put their reading knowledge to the test in the annual Boyce Middle School “Battle of the Books” competition!
Interested students will form a team that must include 2-5 members, and then read this year's five wonderful books.
During the school day on Friday, May 15, 2026, all participating teams will battle it out by working with their team to answer questions about each of the books.

The Battle of the Books sign-up deadline is Friday, March 27, 2026.
This year’s titles are:
- Demon Dentist by David Walliams
- Impossible Creatures by Katherine Rundell
- The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau
- Cleopatra’s Needle by Dan Gutman
- A Place to Hang the Moon by Kate Albus
Students are encouraged to borrow these books from the Boyce Library or township library. However, many students choose to purchase books on their own and share with their team.
