Volunteer Info & Safety Policies
To ensure the safety of all persons involved in our Deer Valley Earthwarden Program, please read the following policies regarding procedures for our Deer Valley trips. These policies are required by our school district, and must be complied with in order to attend a trip. Please contact the Boyce Deer Valley staff if you have any questions.
Act 15 Adult Volunteer Clearances Requirement
Part of what makes Deer Valley a special experience for our students is the participation of our parents and other family members. In order to ensure that all who would like to attend are able to do so, please review the district's information regarding background clearances that are required for ALL accompanying adults.
Please note that clearances are valid for five years. Therefore, if you already have the required clearances, please follow the necessary steps to become an approved USCSD volunteer.
To ensure that everything is in order for a successful Deer Valley experience, we ask that all clearances be submitted by March 14, 2025.
Medicine Policy

In the event that a child does not have a parent and/or guardian attending their trip, teachers WILL NOT be permitted to administer medications to your child.

A firm commitment of your attendance will be needed in order for the district to best plan to meet your child’s medication needs in the event of your absence.
